Offline Website Promotion (SEO) tips

1) Add your website in your business card along with the email, address and other details.Through friends, relatives, colleagues and through your business partner your business card may reach thousands of people. 2) Newspaper advertisement is always powerful. Especially, when you offer any special discounts or a product is newly introduced in the market you should inform the audience through an advertisement. Never fail to include your URL at the bottom of the advertisement. Since newspaper reading habit is there in almost every home, your website and product will reach them quickly. These offers and discounts will attract them to purchase your product.

3) Shopping malls, theaters, theme parks, beaches are the places overcrowded at the weekends. Choose such places and distribute pamphlets describing your business.

  7. I have my website written on my business card, but I don’t think it helps a lot. It’s rare that anybody would keep a business card safely and make the effort of seeing and checking the site. Yes newspaper advertisements have helped a lot in generating traffic. After the ads the traffic did increase. My SEO handles the rest by creating backlinks and social networking sites. The post is very beneficial. Thanks. I hope to read some more about writing tips and what not to do while creating traffic.

  8. Well yes, business card may not be a great idea but no harm in trying it out. I mean, we do carry business cards so why not mention our website too. May be something works out. You never know how any small thing can lead to something real big. Why not take a chance and be hopeful? Yes we can’t rely solely on them and must have other good means.

  9. I agree with Patrick. Business cards and pamphlets may not help much but you never know! They may not generate huge traffic but a prospective client may contact you after seeing your website. That one client is better than having 10 visitors who read and go away. online tips are in any case better for traffic generation and better to hire a SEO.

  10. Well guys, I want to add here that I got some good business because of my business card! I went to meet the client but somehow we could not have a chat. I left my business card and message with the receptionist and came back. Later I got a call from a prospective client, who happened to see my card at the receptionist’s desk! Anything can happen anytime! Spread yourself like a spider and cover all probable ways!

  11. Here is my trick. I gave a very funny name to my website. It didn’t suggest what the website is all about. Whoever read it anywhere found it catchy and got curious to know what it is all about. Also, the name was such that anybody could remember it without the need of writing it anywhere. That’s how I landed up generating good traffic, hence revenue and clients.

  12. What I do, is have a single color base for the newspaper ad and make cartoons whose activities inform about our product to the readers. Every day our ads are publishes with a particular base color but the cartoons and their activities are different. This increases public curiosity and they tend to read all of it. That’s how my site reached thousands of people and traffic increased!

  13. Visiting cards do help a lot if interesting and attractive. I have a smiling baby holding balloons on the corner of my visiting card and the card is itself with a pink base color. Anybody would smile looking at a baby and that is the trick! It really works. People don’t feel like throwing the card and that’s how my site travels with them.

  14. I agree with the fellow commenters that anything can help. I too concentrate a lot on my visiting card and make sure to give them to the right people. I know anybody would save my contact details into their mobiles instead of carrying the card, but the card creates an impression. I have written – “You may call me –Joseph, and drop by my place at – ….” This creates an interest and helps me build contacts.

  15. I make sure to do well in the social networking sites, because they are probably the best to reach out millions. When people like my fan page, I come to know they are my prospective clients. I keep updating every now and then and have games and quiz etc. to give them something every time they view my page. This really works!

  16. What I did is, upload interesting videos on concerned sites and leave my link and details below or at the last clip. People love to watch trailers of upcoming movies, so I upload them with a creative tint while promoting my business. Till now, the results have been great, though I am trying to find many more ways too. Worth a try guys!

  17. I think offline means are losing attention but they are still very effective. In the busy schedule few people click on our links via social networking sites until we reach their wall. Offline means like banners, television advertising, mouth to mouth publicity still work in getting good revenues. At least I have made good deals because of mouth to mouth publicity.

  18. Online means are a must to gain publicity. Anybody would check how famous our product is and how many people are associated with us on various social networking sites. We can talk with the prospective buyers and talk about our product in an interesting manner instead of simply writing in the home page which some may read and others would’nt.

  19. I think we need to balance our offline and online strategies. We cannot miss on newspaper ads because that is what reached the homes of all every single day! It is important to remain in the eyes of all, so that when they want to make a buy, the first brand they must think of is ours.

  20. Well Marc, your comment has been very helpful to me. I decided to give up my regular newspaper advertising. It took away a lot many resources. One week I did not advertise and saw a decline in the number of visitors to my site. This means that newspaper ads were contributing to my traffic, though I didn’t realize!

  21. Hi Marc, I do not agree with you completely. I feel that instead of balancing our offline and online advertising, the ratio should be 20:80. We find a huge junk of people online and can reach all of them together in no time. Offline would be a time taking process.

Nice tips! I always appreciate these informative posts from other blogger experience.. nice..

  23. PPC seems uncomparable to me. There are more chances of being visited because of more visiblity. I have gained traffic after letting my site be on high visibility area. I am sure others benefit too.

  24. I think Viral Marketing would be a good idea. This can help when done at the right place and right time. It helped my company and I suggest everybody to give it a try.

  25. Most of the people have a look at the brochures only once. Better to advertise on buses, famous shops, pt up banners on rickshaws etc.

  26. I really like your offline tips, good info! People don’t pay as much attention to it as they used to because of all the internet mania going on but I still believe that it is just as effective as it used to be.

People might even be easier to convert in person than online. :)
